What we collect
- Your golf data. Your name, optional handicap and playing level, units, clubs and lofts, swing system, and the shots you log (club, swing, carry, distance to the flag, uphill or downhill, temperature, elevation and date).
- Your account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous account ID from Apple, and your name and email only if you choose to share them. Apple lets you hide your real email; we then get a private relay address.
- Swing Check videos. Videos you record or choose for Swing Check, and how you trimmed them.
- Purchases. Whether you have WedgeLab Pro and when it renews. Apple handles payment; we never see or store your card details.
- Basic app diagnostics. Crash reports and error logs that help us fix problems. These don't include your shots or videos.
Location
When you tap the location button to fill in today's conditions, the app reads your approximate location once and sends the coordinates to Open-Meteo, a weather service, to get the current temperature and ground elevation. We don't store your location, track it in the background, or use it for anything else. You can always type the conditions in instead, and you can turn location off for WedgeLab in your iPhone's Settings.
Camera and photos
WedgeLab asks for the camera or your photo library only when you add a Swing Check video. It saves a copy of the clips you pick. It doesn't look at the rest of your library.
How we use it
- To build your baseline numbers and today's adjusted numbers.
- To back up your shots and videos so they survive a new phone.
- To unlock Pro features you've paid for.
- To answer you when you contact support, and to fix bugs.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run WedgeLab, and only for that purpose:
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, payments and app distribution.
- Supabase to store your account, shots and videos.
- RevenueCat to manage your Pro subscription status.
- Open-Meteo to look up weather when you use the location button.
Your coach, if you join a team. When you join a college team in WedgeLab with a team code, your coach can see the data saved in your WedgeLab backup: your profile (name, handicap and playing level), your clubs and swing system, your shots and the numbers built from them, and the rounds you log in Proximity (each approach shot’s distance, lie and how close it finished). Your coach can’t see your Swing Check videos. Your coach stops seeing your data when you leave the team in Settings, or when the team’s subscription ends.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. If you delete your account, we delete your shots, videos and profile from our systems within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep a record (for example, of purchases).
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete account. That removes your account and everything in it. To stop sharing with a coach without deleting anything, open Settings and tap your team, then Leave team. To cancel a Pro subscription, use your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions; deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel it by itself.
You can also email us at wedgewisegolf@gmail.com to ask for a copy of your data or to have it deleted.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can access your data and keep only what we need.
Children
WedgeLab is built for golfers age 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to how it's used. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app.
